The “Patricia Cummings Pierce Excellence in Teaching Award” is an award, sponsored by TSEF, usually presented annually to a distinguished educator from the five town area who advocates for students, has a willingness to support colleagues and expands professional horizons.
The Pat Pierce Award recognizes the exceptional characteristics of Pat's life - her deep commitment to children and her profession, as well as her great enthusiasm for learning and life.
Nominations for the award, beginning in 1994, come from peers. The past two years have presented unique circumstances and educational challenges that have demanded reaching outside established procedures and practices to manifest these characteristics, making the recognition and celebration of these qualities even more important.
In a spirit that Pat Pierce would have embraced, TSEF is taking this opportunity to recognize the entire Mt. Abraham Unified School District teaching staff for the creativity, innovation, collegiality, and expansion of horizons that they continually manifest during these challenging times.
TSEF is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
